Google is bring back missing out on evaluations in Google Service Profiles after repairing a bug that caused them to get eliminated.
Google is repairing a bug that caused evaluations to go missing out on from Google Business Profiles. Google confirms evaluations are getting brought back. Google’s Search Intermediary, Danny Sullivan, announced on Buy Twitter Verified in reply to Mike Blumenthal, who says he reported the bug a week back.
Our apologies here. The team understands this bug and has actually been actively resolving it. Numerous reviews have been restored, which work will continue.

Blumenthal isn’t exaggerating the severity of the bug. Evaluations are a restaurant’s support, and removing them can significantly impact revenue.
There are various threads in the Google Business Profile help online forums started by business owners who lost most or all of their evaluations.
In each thread, the business owners share something in typical. After applying Google’s suggested edits to their service profile, they all lost evaluations.
Blumenthal composes in a post that he discovered Google was changing the consumer identification (CID) number when businesses applied recommended edits:
“With some digging, I discovered that in each case Google had actually altered the CID, the identifier Google utilizes to connect all pertinent details to a business, consisting of evaluations. Normally the CID just changes when 2 listings merge or Google has hard-suspended a listing for guidelines infractions and after that restored it.”
Client evaluations are connected with a particular CID number, which means changing the CID eliminates the reviews.
That must never happen, particularly not when applying Google’s suggested edits.
A fix is on the way, and ideally, it’s as easy as going back the affected Google Service Profiles to their original CID numbers.
We’ll update this post if Google shares extra info.
